Prominent family in Manimala, Plackattu family, was founded by Late Kuruvila, known as Kunju,the eldest of the four sons of Kochitti Kuruvila and Achamma who migrated to Manimala from Mepral, originally belonged to Poothicote family and became Syrian Catholic. Family get together called Kudumbayogams are held every year. Ancestral home is in Karikkattoor, while families of their sons and daughters are spread out in different parts of Kerala. A detailed genealogy is under construction. Eldest son of Mathaichan (Born:.. Died at the age of 35 on 16 Nov 1956.
MARIAMMA (PENNAMMA), Thommikunj’s wife is daughter of Late Joseph and Mariamma, Paitutharayil, Puthukary, Alleppey dist. Only sister of four brothers – Late P.J. Joseph (Sr), Mr P.J. Varghese, Rev Fr Xavier P.J., and P.J. Joseph (Jr) . Fr XAVIER is stationed at Snehadeepam at Alamelumangapuram (Vellore- Tamil Nadu). We have been fortunate to witness the great work the Almighty helped him to do for the church and the poor in Tamil Nadu as a missionary. Fr Xavier celebrated Golden jubilee of his ordination in 2009. He was ordained on 23rd April 1959 and celebrated the First Holy Mass on 24th April 1959.A function to felicitate him was held in Vellore on 27th April 2009.
